About Jake
With a practical and business oriented approach, Jake assists employers with challenging workplace disputes and litigation.
Jake is a strategic, trusted advisor for employers known for delivering clear, practical solutions to complex workplace issues. Drawing on deep knowledge and expertise in employment, labour and human rights law, Jake leads an advocacy focused practice and has represented clients before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, and private labour arbitrators. Beyond litigation, Jake assists employers navigate the full spectrum of workplace challenges, from collective bargaining negotiations and collective agreement interpretation to policy reviews, investigations and day-to-day employee relations concerns.
While working at a large national firm, Jake was seconded to a major Toronto hospital. Working directly with in-house leaders, he provided strategic advice and appeared on behalf of the hospital in several labour, employment, and human rights matters. This unique experience shaped Jake’s perspective on practice and informs his business-aligned approach to client needs.
Outside his practice, Jake is an active community contributor. He regularly provides pro bono support to 2SLGBTQI+ organizations and climate initiatives, and regularly delivers workshops on workplace investigations, accommodations, and emerging trends in labour and employment law.
