Kyla represents both unionized and non-unionized employers in the provincial and federal sectors. Her experience includes assisting with grievance arbitrations, wrongful and unjust dismissal proceedings, human rights applications and complaints, workplace accommodation issues, and investigations. She also supports clients with day-to-day employment matters, including drafting employment and termination documentation and advising on employment aspects of corporate transactions.

Before joining Protea, Kyla practised at a leading national labour and employment firm where she gained broad exposure to complex workplace litigation matters and strategic employment advisory work. This experience informs her practical, client-focused approach to advising employers.

During law school, Kyla worked closely with a labour law professor and arbitrator analyzing workplace accommodation decisions, and served as a case manager at the Western Business Law Clinic, where she assisted start-up clients with early legal needs.

Outside of her practice, Kyla enjoys Pilates, travelling, and reading.
