Protea LLP Welcomes Rachel Devon

Toronto, ON – May 5, 2026 – Protea LLP is pleased to announce that Rachel Devon has joined the firm as an Associate, bringing extensive in‑house and private practice experience to the firm’s growing employer‑side labour and employment team.

Rachel’s career spans both a leading national law firm and one of Canada’s largest private‑sector employers. She advises employers across the full spectrum of workplace law delivering pragmatic, business‑focused solutions grounded in an understanding of operational realities. Her practice includes providing strategic guidance to employers on a wide range of labour and employment matters, including hiring, performance management, terminations, reorganizations, employment standards, human rights and accommodation, workplace investigations, workplace violence and harassment, and the development and implementation of workplace policies.

Rachel’s significant in‑house experience provides her a nuanced perspective on balancing legal risk with day-to-day business needs. During her five years with Canada’s largest retailer, she advised on employment law, labour relations, and regularly represented the organization in human rights proceedings, employment standards complaints, and labour arbitrations. Her commitment to client success aligns seamlessly with Protea’s innovative and focused approach to workplace law.

“Rachel’s combination of strategic insight, practical judgment, and real‑world business experience makes her an outstanding addition to our firm,” said Maneli Badii, Protea LLP’s Managing Partner. “Her approach reflects our commitment to delivering clear, effective and solutions‑oriented advice to employers.”

“This is my second time working with Rachel, and her ability to navigate the complex world of workplace law in a practical and efficient way is and will be a major benefit to our clients,” added Erin Porter, Partner at Protea LLP. “Her solution-focussed mindset is exactly what employers need.”

Protea LLP is proud to welcome Rachel as the firm continues to build one of Canada’s premier management-side labour and employment practices.
